  • Fun place in a beautiful setting

    by puravi p on 2018-08-11 01:38 pm

We stayed at Sagamore in July and had a great time. The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. The pool and recreation center are nice. Lots of activities to keep the kids busy (in addition to all the activities offered around the Lake area). We would definitely return to this area!! The price of the resort is a little steep though.

  • Hospitable Management

    by eod4941 on 2018-08-09 07:31 am

We, my husband and I and our 5 adult children, celebrated my husband's 60th birthday 2 weeks ago with a 4 day weekend at the Sagamore. We had been there as a family years ago and I knew it would hold sentimental value for my husband. We initially had some issues with the reservation staff not being responsive at all to our needs and being quite dismissive. However, when this was brought to the attention of Tom Guay, the manager, he explained that the resort contracts out the reservation function and he would address their rudeness with them. He proceeded to make satisfactory amends and we went on to have a lovely stay. We enjoyed a very good dinner at La Bella Vita the night of our arrival; spent the next day on the lake after renting a boat in Bolton Landing and relaxed by the lake the 3rd day and enjoyed walking into town for dinner. Our accommodations at the Sagamore were very nice and we enjoyed lunch at the Pavilion on the last day before we left.

  • Top notch

    by Jerry757 on 2018-08-06 02:39 pm

Went for a few days with my wife to get away. Place is wonderful. The staff can not help you enough. The room was very nice. You have to remember this is a resort so there are a lot of families. Had a massage that was great. Breakfast every morning was fantastic. Get there before 9am. It gets busy. Are such a good breakfast that lunch was just a snack at one of the outside bars. We ate one night at the resort, bit of a disappointment, the food was not flavorful. I had the sea scallops over risotto, the scallops were done nice but no flavor in the risotto. Same with my wife's halibut. The fish was cooked perfect but the pasta was bland. There are plenty of restaurants around the area. Make sure you make reservations early if your going to the resort tables fill up fast.
Make sure you take a boat ride, but again get there early.
I would definitely go back again for a get away, or a family get together. Just probably go out for dinner.

    Dear Jerry757,

Thank you for spending a few days with us recently! I was happy that you found the staff as helpful, the room nice and that you loved the breakfast buffet! Also, thank you for the tip on getting to breakfast early! We have quite a bit of outdoor seating but it is first come first serve and it fills up fast. Like you I too was disappointed that you did not like your meal with us. We have several dining options for our guests and I am confident that we can do a better job! I was happy to read that you intend to return! Nothing would please us more!

    Sincerely,

    Tom Guay

  • Sagamore

Gorgeous resort which truly transports you away on vacation. Recommend sunrise swim in pool for early morning workout and then enjoy cocktails on patios in evenings under moonlit sky. A fabulous getaway.

    Dear james w,

Great recommendations for sure! If I may, I'd like to add a few as well. Be sure to swim in the lake, relax in the spa and stop down to Mr. Browns pub to hear Vinnie on the guitar! I could go on and on but most importantly, I thank you for staying with us and we look forward to your return!

    Sincerely,

    Tom Guay

  • Great Views, needs updating

    by gcg3refs on 2018-08-06 08:32 am

The rating is for the views and the staff. Awesome looking resort when arriving and per the staff, the best views of the Lake are from the 3rd floor. We ended up staying in an outlying set of cabins, away from the main resort. The room is OK, could use some updating as some things are outdated. We could get a shuttle to the main resort and the service was good. We ate at Caldwell's and La Bella Vita, we did not have the issues with either restaurant.

    Owner Response
    Dear gcg3refs,

Thank you for recognizing the efforts of our staff and please know we too love the view! It is one of the nicest in the world! I was happy that you used the on call shuttle to get around the property. We also shuttle guests into town as well. I was happy that you enjoyed our restaurants too! Thank you and we look forward to your return!

    Sincerely,

    Tom Guay
