  • Disappointing service

    by Connector12887980978 on 2019-04-19 01:22 pm

Concierge did not go above and beyond. We got engaged that weekend- no champagne, no congratulations, nothing from the staff. Did not offer any suggestions around the city of Louisville, didn't share the fact of the in house historical tour offered. Housekeeping was terrible. Didn't clean our room one day, and woke us up the morning after our engagement despite the do not disturb sign - insisting we were supposed to be checking out that morning. We weren't. Also came back to our room one day with a carton of cigarettes on the floor, neither of us smoke.
Loved the city of Louisville, service at Seelbach was subpar. The hotel itself is beautiful though.

    Dear Connector12887980978,

I can't apologize enough for the lack of service you received while on property. We will definitely be speaking with the staff involved with your room during your stay. At no point should we be rushing out our guests. I'm sorry we did not live up to your expectations. Thank you for letting us know of the issues so we can correct them in the future.

    Congratulations on the engagement.

    Sincerely,

  • Classy and historic

    by Fearless05201871995 on 2019-04-16 05:06 pm

We had a great time. We were in town for Thunder over Louisville. Wasn't too bad of a walk, but were close to live on fourth street. Loved all the history related to the hotel. Definitely recommend taking the tour! Will be back next year.

  • I had a business trip planned to Louisville and decided to invite my boyfriend along and spend the weekend in Louisville

    by Betty D on 2019-04-16 10:35 am

Staying at the Seelbach was a special treat. The hotel is gorgeous and the history of the place is fascinating. Think Al Capone....

The location in the heart of downtown made it easy to walk to numerous restaurants and entertainment venues including the riverfront park where we had the opportunity to participate in the Louisville Thunder festivities. What a great time!

The room was beautiful, the service was great, the location was perfect. We loved it!

    Owner Response
    Dear Betty D,

We are thrilled you got to check out Thunder. It is the start of a couple weeks of events and parties all tied around a 2 minute horse race. It is an amazing time in the city.

Thank you for the review and hope to see you soon.

    Sincerely,

  • Seelbach Hotel & Staff

by gdwilder on 2019-04-15 07:32 pm

The historic Seelbach Hotel is wonderful destination for anyone with interests in business, sports, the arts, history, and/or entertainment. It is centrally located among Louisville's downtown entertainment district, theatres, sports venues, government offices, etc. Among the most enjoyable features of the Seelbach are the professional and friendly staff, each of whom will go out of their way to assure you have a comfortable stay in Louisville. The historic nature of the hotel, built in the early 1900s is reason, alone, to make a visit to Louisville. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to the beautiful Seelbach Hotel.

  • Great place to stay for Thunder

    by Yugo65 on 2019-04-14 04:26 pm

This was our first stay at the Seelbach. The hotel is very stately with lots of interesting history. Staff were all very friendly and efficient from the parking valet to the front desk. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Right next to 4th Street Live and within walking distance to Thunder. We ate breakfast twice at the hotel and the food was excellent and the pastries were to die for! The bar in the hotel was charming as well.

    Owner Response
    Dear Yugo65,

Thank you for the review. We appreciate the comments on the property. I will pass on your thoughts about the pastries, we have a new chef working up there and she will love to hear the feedback. I hope you enjoyed Thunder. It was not the best skyline with all the cloud cover but it still looked great. We hope to see you again in the future.

    Sincerely,
