  • Nice boutique hotel in downtown Lakeland.

I've stayed here a few times now. Its in the heart of Lakeland, lots of nice restaurants close by, good location. The hotel is nice, rooms are clean and the staff are very well trained and nice.
If you are looking for a nice boutique style hotel with great service this is a good one.

  • Needs new choices on the menu

The food at The Terrace is good but overpriced. AND the menu has not changed for 20 years. My husband and I should know--we had our wedding reception there in 1999. We've eaten at the Terrace Grill every anniversary since. Neither the menu not the upholstery in the Lobby have changed. Update highly recommended.

  • Historical Restaurant

I read the other reviews which were not very good. Mainly the complaints were that the kitchen was slow. Well, I was there with out-of-town guests, so we were not in a hurry. As stated in another review the service was wonderful. We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunches. So for us, the Lakeland Terrace Hotel Restaurant was an enjoyable experience.

  • Slowest Kitchen in Lakeland?

    by julielynn992 on 2019-07-21 09:14 pm

I hate to rate The Terrace one star because the service was exceptional. The reasoning behind my low rating is all due to the kitchen; which was a mess. My associate and I were in town and had several meals here. I will state once again the service was exceptional. One day we waited over an hour for our lunch entrees and this is not the first time. Here's what we noticed each time we dined; Restaurant was not even at half capacity, servers were waiting at the food window for what seemed like forever, nothing was being produced out of the kitchen. As soon as plate when up it would arrive at a table, a big guy would walk behind the food window bark orders and the walk back away. If they had half the amount of cooks that they did servers maybe it wouldn't take an hour for lunch. Our next meal we tried to get in at Harry's it was a 45 min wait, they suggested a new place called 1961. Now that is fine dining, it was completely full, yet food came out fresh and in a timely manner, which is great for us that need to get back to a work day, their Chef even stopped by our table. I will not be recommending The Terrace any longer, time and time again they have failed to execute meal service properly, it seems as it continuously going down hill. Sad.

  • Good location, OK rooms

by PSBChris on 2019-06-25 10:31 am

I recently visited the Terrace for 3 nights while visiting for business. The building is beautiful on the outside - historic. Located in the area of a few restaurants, and a nice park across the street. Parking is offered either valet or complimentary.
Check-in was smooth, with no issues. The room was fine, but outdated. Not enough plugs for today's electronics. I had to unplug lamps to charge the phone. Also had difficulty finding a place to plug in an iron. The room itself was clean and spacious enough. The bathroom needed a little love in the shower, but otherwise seemed clean.
They offered a very small selection of pastries for 'complimentary' breakfast, along with coffee. These were ok. I did not eat any breakfast at the Terrace Grill, which is their onsite restaurant. I did eat dinner at the Grill one night, and it was excellent, with good service. That was the highlight of the stay.
