  • Not a great experience

    by Sherpa30235885682 on 2019-06-25 09:40 am

We were not impressed at all with this hotel. The bathrooms being the number one issue. It was small, looked dirty, the shower was falling apart and didn't have enough towels. Besides that, the view was of an air conditioning unit and the blinds didn't work

  • Hit or Miss

Overall less impressed. Room service skipped my room (made it look like I put privacy tag on door, which I did not). No cookie, warm or otherwise. Forced valet parking (attendants were really nice). Made to order breakfast was really good (free with Hilton Diamond status). Historical property- but retrofit floor in room unfinished baseboard molding. Lobby computer locked USB port, couldn't print files without emailing them to myself. Bathroom so tiny, door open/close almost impossible while standing in bathroom. On site restaurant pricey- food quality average. Location was very convenient for my business purposes, but may not visit again. No pool. Hassle to get in/out of lobby- stairs (although elevator handy in Valet area).

  • Historic hotel with small bathrooms

by TJouer on 2019-06-21 06:35 pm

We recently spent an overnight at the DoubleTree Tudor Arms. We selected this hotel for a week night due to its proximity to the Cleveland Clinic. If you like historic hotels you will appreciate the ambiance here. Do not miss the architecture details and the ballrooms on the second floor which have been converted into dining and conference areas. The halls are well lit and wider than normal hotel halls.

I was pleased with the size of our room and the decorating. My only complaint was the size of the bathroom (this was a former Case Western Reserve student housing). It has a very tiny sink area and a walk-in shower with a partial glass enclosure. For one person it would be fine. For two adults to stay there more than one night, I would feel claustrophobic.

We tried the breakfast in the Empress Room which is on the second floor. The service was quick and cordial. My dining partner had the buffet, and I ordered off of the menu. My serving of French toast and turkey sausages was large enough to share.

I would stay here again because of value and location.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Some bathrooms in our historic can tend to be on the 'cozy' side. Make sure to reach out to us when you find yourself coming to Cleveland again. We'd be happy to discuss a few rooms types with larger bathrooms for you.

  • Great piece of history to stay in...

    by Jonathan W on 2019-06-21 03:24 pm

This is a mid-range hotel, not fancy, and not expensive. The room was large and clean, the beds comfortable, and the service from the staff was friendly and efficient. The window shades were tricky to figure out how to open and close, and they forgot to tell us about breakfast on the second floor every morning (no reminder notice was in the room and we only found out about it on the last day...) Valet parking was efficient and friendly. the hotel restaurant was good.

    Owner Response
We're sorry there were no notices reminding you of breakfast. We are currently checking each of the rooms to make sure the proper signage is in them so that this doesn't happen again. We hope you'll come back to visit soon!

  • A lovely and gracious place to stay!

    by Connie115-11 on 2019-06-17 08:57 am

We highly recommend Tudor Arms to anyone staying in the University Circle area of Cleveland. The room was exceptionally spacious, clean, attractive, with comfortable beds and adequate reading lights. A highlight are the breakfasts, which they take seriously, offering both a buffet and menu orders to choose from. I can't say enough about the staff, from the front desk to the valet service to the restaurant servers - all were personable, very helpful, and seemed to love what they were doing! And you'll love reading the brochure about the famous names who stayed there in its earlier days, like Al Capone, Bob Hope, Lawrence Welk, etc. Another plus: it's easy walking distance to the Cleveland Museum of Art (fabulous) and other cultural attractions.
