  • Upscale service & food

by DDRI on 2019-07-18 07:36 am

The room was very comfortable, bed and linens were exceptional. Only problem (and reason it's not 5 stars) is the smoke smell that was leftover from winter fireplace usage. The management tried with an ionizer, but it seemed to permeate the carpeting, etc. Thank you to Patty for your help both with this issue and solving our parking.
The food was EXCELLENT, as were with wait staff in both the Tavern (Debi) and the Red Rooster (Milton). Shout out to Tim at the bar, and Odeim in particular. Everyone was polite, smiling, and helpful throughout our stay.
We loved the "conservatory" with the scrabble, chess, etc. and the tea and pastries in the afternoon. Yes - we'd come again. Just change those old wood-burning fireplaces to gas please !

  • LOVE this Classic, crisply renovated inn in an area full of opportunity FOR ACTIVITY.

by lindacrick on 2019-07-18 03:28 am

Woodstock Inn was delightful in the summer, with outside pool, relaxing grounds, bikes, fitness center/inside pool, great location. Classic design. Great common areas for people watching, playing Scrabble, chess, puzzles eating a leisurely dessert, enjoying morning coffee in the quiet hours. Helpful, responsive, professional staff. 2 delicious restaurants. Near to the Appalacian Trail, King Arthurs corporate location (baking classes, extensive store and cafe), The Vermont Store, Simon Pierce glass factory/ The Mill Restaurant, Andrew Pierce wood factory, many galleries, Rockefeller/ Billings/March National Park and farms, many cheese and maple syrup factories/tasting. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE THE GLORIOUS COLOR HERE IN THE FALL. *****ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU ARE A DOG PERSON, THE Inn ALLOW DOGS IN CERTAIN ROOMS. IF YOU ARE NOT, Be sure to notate this in your reservation profile. The rooms are beautifully outfitted, fabulous linens, new carpet, new furniture and a peaceful blue/green paint that made for restful sleep.HOWEVER, upon checking in there was a HUGE stain on the carpet and the bedskirt. It appeared that a large dog had taken a large whiz. We refused to stay in the room unless it was remediated. Staff immediately and thoroughly cleaned area, replaced all bedding and put on a new bedskirt. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A BIG FIGHT AND A DISASTER BUT BECAUSE STAFF RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY ALL THAT WAS DIVERTED AND WE THOROUGHLY RELAXED, RESTED AND ENJOYED THE INN. ENJOY THE MAPLE CAKE AND CANDIED PECAN ICE CREAM FROM THE TAVERN IN THE FRONT GAME ROOM. Top notch spa on site and near to several snow ski ares.

  • Our new Favorite place

by johngallarello on 2019-07-16 02:08 pm

I can not begin to tell you how much we enjoyed everything about our stay here. Woodstock reminder is a lot like Jackson Hole. The Inn was outstanding. The staff so friendly and helpful. We lived the Saltwater pool. The sports club facility and classes where first rate. The food was so so fresh and delicious at Red Rooster and Richardson Pub. The concierge team is first rate. It is a peace place nobody on their phones. Walk right into the town. It was relaxing and fun. We will be back again and again and in different seasons

Thank you for choosing to visit Woodstock recently and commenting so positively on the wonderfully relaxing atmosphere throughout our resort and the village we're part of.

It's a terrific little town and easy to see why it's often called the prettiest small town in America. There has been lodging on our property non-stop since 1792 and the relationship between the inn and the community has always been close and mutually rewarding.

If there has ever been a community that defines synergy, this is it and we are beyond thrilled to be a part of it! Please do visit again, and fall more deeply in love with Woodstock!

    Thank you again.

  • Fantastic

    by felices94 on 2019-07-16 05:28 am

Truly a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived till the moment we departed. The hotel, staff, dining, spa, were all top quality and very attentive. We very much enjoyed the details of the Inn and amenities. The town itself is quaint, lovely to walk to and experience. We very much enjoyed the Kelly Way Garden tour and Billing Farm. A great relaxing get away in a magnificent Inn.

Thank you for the very nice review of your recent visit to Woodstock and our resort!

I am especially glad you got to experience our own certified-organic Kelly Way Gardens and the nearby Billings Farm & Museum.

Both our resort and "The Farm" are part of The Woodstock Foundation, created by Mr.and Mrs. Rockefeller many years ago to celebrate Woodstock's fascinating legacy of conservation and stewardship, and we're proud to keep the torch burning!

Please do visit us again soon, and we look forward to helping make each visit even better than the one before!

    Best wishes,

  • Prepare to Feel Pampered

    by Marilyn M on 2019-07-14 05:27 am

If you're looking to feel pampered with an old-world charm, you won't find a better place to stay than the Woodstock Inn. Attention to detail is found throughout from the fruit-flavored water at the entrance, to cookies & tea at 4:00 in the afternoon, to the many rooms & verandas where one can sit in contemplative restoration, define the Woodstock Inn. The staff are all welcoming & an esprit d'corps is felt throughout. The charming town of Woodstock complements the inn perfectly, but even if the Woodstock Inn were in "the middle of nowhere", it would still be a desired destination.

    Owner Response
Thank you for commenting on what I like to think of as the timeless charm of The Woodstock Inn and surrounding community.

We love being part of this wonderful tradition, and we especially love sharing it with our guests, whether for their first visit or returning season after season and year after year.

We look forward to rolling out the red carpet for you again soon and showing you even more of what makes us love this area so much!

    Warm regards,
