  • Great stay

by HTownReviewer on 2018-09-20 08:26 pm

Great historic property. Beds are comfortable rooms are large bathrooms are also very large. Plenty of hot water lots of clean linens lots of pillows available on very comfortable beds. It's not cheap to stay here, but it's a wonderful place to be. Would absolutely come back here again when I visit my clients.

I was in the older section, which had a thermostat dial that was generally hotter or colder. This place got frigid at night and the wind was blowing out of the vents so hard you could fly a kite in here. Provided enough white noise so I can sleep comfortably and got the room cold enough that I felt so good I was able to get wonderful sleep. Just awesome.

Also love there is an unlimited supply of hot water in the shower. Wish I could be staying here another night.

very nice resort i would stay there again . the staff was very courteous and friendly. the only thing we di not like was too many pillows. pedestrian friendly. the only thing we did like was when we had lunch there was very limited parking. when we arrived we were not sure where the main entrance was, but my mom askied a gentlemen if he worked at the hotel and he said yes. He had just finished his shift and he walked me to where the main entrance was and parking was. i wish I had i gotten his name

Thank you for visiting us earlier in the week for a quick mother-daughter getaway and sharing your memories of the experience.

I'm especially happy to learn that our staff made you and your mother feel welcome and appreciated, and that your greatest concern was having too many pillows!

Thank you also for pointing out your parking experience. Id' like to reassure you that we do provide complimentary valet service for all out guests and suggest you consider that as an alternative in the future. We're happy to do it!

I am delighted that you met our executive Chef while touring the property and appreciate your mentioning that he went out of his way to assist you. This is perfectly typical of our culture and we'll hold up his attitude and behavior as an example to everyone that our guests actually do notice and enjoy it!

Thank you again, and we look forward to your next visit!

  • Perfect Getaway

    by 980SusanH980 on 2018-09-18 10:19 am

Beautiful property, spacious rooms, excellent restaurants. Close to many attractions. Relaxing as well, if you are looking for quiet place to read or think. Pool is lovely as well when open. Fall is my favorite time to visit.

  • Too costly for what you get

    by sarah7parry on 2018-09-18 08:32 am

There is no doubt the inn is beautiful. However, with the hefty price tag I was not impressed. You could hear every whisper and footstep from inside the room. There was trash still left in the room upon arrival. The vent in the bathroom did not work. The bed was very uncomfortable. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was tasty. I expected more comfort since we paid over $500 for a one night stay. I will not be returning nor recommending this hotel.

Thank you for visiting recently and sharing your concerns. While I'm happy that you enjoyed meeting some of our friendly staff and a delicious breakfast in The Red Rooster, I'm sorry to hear wee let you down in some other respects.

I absolutely agree with you that a properly cleaned guest room is non-negotiable, and I'm sure you understand that what you experienced is very unusual. I wish we'd known of your concerns while you were still here so we could have done something about them, and hope we'll have the chance to make things right at some point in the near future by welcoming you back to Woodstock for a more representative visit. Please do consider staying for a little longer than just a single night; there is so much to do in and around Woodstock and the village can win over your heart in so many ways, that It's just not right to sweep through so quickly without taking the time to really pause, relax, and enjoy!

Than you again for the very thoughtful feedback, and it's important for you to know we appreciate it and will act on it to become an even better property moving forward!

    With best wishes,

  • A Step back in Time

    by cyfr2018 on 2018-09-14 05:57 am

This property is pristine in every way-the rooms are cozy and well-appointed, and the public areas are as welcoming as your own home. Sitting in the morning room with a book and coffee or solving puzzles in the library before or after a day strolling through the most beautiful town of covered bridges, quaint shops and stunning century-old homes was so tranquil. There is great value in the ambiance the Woodstock Inn provides.

Thank you for "coming home" to Woodstock recently and commenting on the elegantly relaxed ambience and the overall feeling of peace you enjoyed.

I was especially happy that you enjoyed morning coffee in The Conservatory (did you also catch our terrific afternoon tea, Woodstock-style?); the challenging and beautiful Stave handmade wooden jugsaw puzzles in The Library; and of course the pristine little village with its covered bridges, parks, and quiet lanes for strolling and cycling.

We hope to see you again soon and look forward to sharing more: Billings Farm & Museum perhaps, or Marsh Billings Rockefeller national Historical Park? A unique Signature Treatment in The Spa? Hiking, biking, tennis, or skiing?

    The possibilities are limitless!

    Thank you again,
    Rick Reno, Resort Training Manager
