Seattle’s Historic Mayflower Park Hotel Celebrates 90th Anniversary

Seattle --- Mayflower Park Hotel came to being on July 16, 1927 and is celebrating 90 years as Seattle’s longest continuously operating hotel. Throughout the 90 years, the Mayflower Park Hotel has always been managed by local owners. This spring and summer the Mayflower Park Hotel is inviting Seattleites and tourists to join us in celebration.  Starting late spring, the hotel will be offering the following:

  • Special 90th Anniversary Hotel Package-Includes deluxe guestroom or suite, two 90th anniversary specialty cocktails from Oliver’s, breakfast for two, valet parking, tickets to Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI), Mayflower Park Hotel’s very own history book and a commemorative 90th anniversary keepsake.  
  • Historic Treasure Hunt-This treasure hunt will take guests to three historic spots within the Mayflower Park Hotel.  A printed piece including fun clues and facts will be provided.  Treasures (gifts) will be rewarded at the end of the hunt.  To keep guests on their toes, clues and historical artifacts will change throughout the spring and summer.  
  • Historical Hotel Gallery-These hotel walls tell a story.  Guests are invited to walk through the hotel’s historic picture gallery and note how connected the Mayflower Park Hotel has been to the heart of Seattle for the past 90 years. 
    • Oliver’s Lounge Toasts with Specialty Cocktail, The Bergonian- Crafted with local award winning Copperworks gin, Cointtreau, Cream de Casis,Espirit de June, a squeeze of lemon, a bit of red wine and Prosecco, it's the perfect drink to honor the historic Mayflower Park Hotel. 
    • Social Media Contests-Everyone is invited to share stories and photos of stays at the Mayflower Park Hotel.  Contest winners will receive gift certificates for hotel stays, meals and merchandise.
    • Summer Block Party, July 14th -A community celebration with cake, balloons and good company! 

About Owners Marie and Birney Dempcy:
Local owners Marie and Birney Dempcy purchased the Mayflower Park Hotel in 1973. They lovingly restored the hotel throughout the years and today, 43 years later, they continue to be involved with the hotel operations. Details of their 43 year ownership are documented in Seattle’s Mayflower Park Hotel, published by Arcadia Publishing and written by the Historians at the Mayflower Park Hotel.
