Which historic hotel is thought to be the oldest hotel in Italy?

If you guessed NH Collection Florence Porta Rossa (13th Century) in Florence, Italy, you guessed correctly!

The NH Collection Florence Porta Rossa is thought to be the oldest hotel in Italy, complete with a 13th century tower and ancient frescoes. The first building to stand where the hotel is today served as Florence’s inaugural municipal building, and is the origin of the building’s immense tower. An additional structure was built on the land in the 16th century that incorporated the original 13th century tower. The structure was a private residence tor two centuries and then became a hotel the first half of the 19th century.  Today, the hotel incorporates old world charm with modern amenities in the heart of Florence’s historical center.
