- Discover the unique and Victorian Eclectic architectural style of Hotel Iroquois. The hotel dates to the mid-19th and early-20th centuries and its eclectic design is the result of a fusion of many historical features. “Eclecticism” began and was used primarily by those in Europe before the style made its way to America in the late 1800s. The American architects who embraced Eclecticism were especially interested in Colonial architecture. Around Hotel Iroquois, this idea of Eclecticism can be seen through the Colonial Revival-style plantation shutters and columns.

The rooms are designed with a coastal flair showing off sea blues and tropical greens. - Explore famous and ancient rock formations on Mackinac Island at Arch Rock. The arch towers soar above the water and are more than 50 feet wide and only 1.2 miles from the hotel. Arch Rock can be accessed by foot, taxi, carriage, or by biking.
- Spend the day at Mackinac Island State Park, Michigan’s first state park. This park was first established in 1895 and over 80 percent of the park remains in its natural condition. The park consists of historic landmarks, breathtaking vistas, quiet forests, unique rock formations, and nature trails that suit all guests that visit. The ancient seas, ice glaciers, and 10,000 years of rising/falling of lake levels formed Mackinac Island and much of that natural history can be seen throughout the geology of this state park.
- Experience Mackinac Island’s Original Butterfly House and Insect Museum. The museum is the first of its kind in Michigan and the third oldest live butterfly exhibit in the United States. The facility is state-of-the-art with a 1,800 square foot tropical garden that is filled with hundreds of live butterflies from four different continents.

The carriage tours are the most favored way to explore the island as well as the most authentic, as it is one of the oldest horse and buggy services offered. The carriage tours first began providing tours of the island in 1869 when the first city carriage license was issued. Today, guests can experience the sightseeing tour in a horse-drawn carriage and visit the landmarks on the island.
- Paddle into the sunset with a kayak tour on Mackinac Island. Explore the bay and marina, natural rock formations, wildlife, and lighthouses around the island, or venture to other islands such as St. Ignace, Round Island, and Bois Blanc Island.
- Sail aboard the Isle Royale Queen III on an adventurous Sip N’Sail Cruise. The Isle Royale Queen III is a charming 81-foot vessel that features a full-service interior bar, advanced sound system, and multiple outdoor viewing areas for guests to enjoy the breeze. It is a popular option for bachelor/bachelorette parties or birthday celebrations as DJs and entertainers are allowed on board to accommodate for the event. The cruise sets sail about one mile from Hotel Iroquois.

- Enjoy a luncheon or late afternoon snack at Fort Mackinac Tea Room. It is one of the most scenic settings on the island to indulge in a delicious meal and sip some tea. Fort Mackinac is filled with the island's history as it was first founded in 1780. Today guests can enjoy dining at the fort and enjoy a tour of the historic site afterward. The tearoom includes exceptional views of downtown Mackinac and the harbor.
- Stop by Chuckwagon for breakfast or lunch as it is one of Mackinac’s most beloved restaurants. Chuckwagon has been on the island for almost 60 years and has been serving locals and guests since then. Dishes are prepared using quality ingredients and with a personal touch. They are well-known for their Bleu Cheeseburger and is said to be worth waiting a line for!
- Devour a meal in a 19th century-saloon atmosphere at Horn’s Gaslight Bar & Restaurant. Established in 1933, the restaurant will soon celebrate a century of hosting Mackinac locals and visitors with tasty food and drinks. The menu features delicious lunch and dinner options with American and Southwestern fare.
