Chile Rellenos have been served at this hotel since 1926 when it was a Fred Harvey House. In 1925 the Inn was leased to legendary hotelier, Fred Harvey and it was operated as one of his renowned Harvey House Hotels for more than 40 years. These hotels were known for their hospitality, comfortable surroundings and delicious food for weary rail travelers. Today the tradition continues at La Fonda with a dish is known and loved, “Fred Harvey’s Chile Rellenos.”

La Fonda is celebrating its 100th birthday with an exclusive fine tequila, the La Fonda Barrel Select Centennial Herradura. The double barrel añejo Herradura tequila is 100% blue agave tequila that is aged for 25 months in toasted oak barrels. To create La Fonda’s signature tequila, it is then matured for an additional month in a new barrel. Each barrel is tasted, approved and authenticated by a team of professionals in Jalisco, Mexico.
