This innovative hotel is a historic marriage of substance and style. While the exterior of the 19th-century tobacco warehouse has been preserved, its interior reflects a thoroughly modern sensibility. Bright colors and bold artwork strike a harmonious chord with the original exposed brickwork and hand-hewn timbers. The hotel’s art gallery features rotating collections by various local artists. All artwork and furnishings throughout the hotel’s rooms and common areas are available for purchase. The restaurant is named after a tobacco inspection ticket bearing the name John J. Jeffries, dated November 12, 1890, that was discovered during the building’s transformation. John J. Jeffries is Lancaster’s first organic fine-dining establishment.
