In 1889, local businessman and entrepreneur William Chancellor began a legacy of culture and sophistication with The Blennerhassett Hotel, which has played host to over a century of businessmen and tycoons. Touches such as lavish crown moldings and extravagant light fixtures captivated guests with their splendor. The original entrance to the hotel housed the First National Bank of Parkersburg, a trendsetter in the use of a luxurious new invention: electricity. Following a major renovation, The Blennerhassett has returned to its original grandeur, offering European-style décor, gourmet cuisine, and attentive service. Signature guestrooms are outfitted with granite vanities, marble showers, and exquisite linens.
