The Brown Hotel, a historic AAA Four Diamond hotel, features classic English Renaissance architecture and an elegant Georgian Revival-style exterior trimmed in stone and terra cotta. Of its opulent two-story lobby with a hand-painted coffered ceiling, Botticino marble floor, finely carved mahogany furnishings, and Palladian-style windows, a writer from Southern Living notes, “I love a grand hotel. I adore sweeping into a lavish lobby that looks as though it came straight from a 1930’s movie set.” The Brown has been a beloved Louisville landmark and favorite social gathering spot since it opened in 1923 and was named in Top Hotels in the South by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
