Guestrooms at the Martha Washington Hotel & Spa are comfortable, elegant, and unique in decor and personality. Guests can enjoy a building rich in history right in Virginia's county seat of Abingdon. In addition to the elegant guestrooms, there are nine very charming and unique suites. The Martha Washington Inn is a smoke-free location. By booking a guestroom at The Martha, guests acknowledge that it is a smoke-free site and if anyone smokes in the space, there will be charge an extra $200 smoking fee for the additional cleaning cost required.

Luxury Room
Each of these rooms are unique but all are tastefully decorated. The Luxury rooms offer a choice of a queen bed or two double beds.

Deluxe Room
These are a little larger and more spacious with a choice of two queen beds or one large king-sized bed in each guestroom.

Family Friendly Suite
A two bedroom apartment with a comfy king for Mom and Dad and a separate room with two queens for the children with a cozy space in between for a late night movie.

George’s Bed ‘n’ Parlor
Two interconnecting king salons each with a gracious sitting area in front of the fireplace. Massive high ceilings and a sense of space and dignity. The perfect suite of accommodations for the bridal party. Ask for a connecting Luxury Queen room for even more space if you want a parent close by!

Martha’s Residence
George Washington certainly never slept here, but he probably wished he had! A bold and striking suite with two fireplaces and all the creature comforts expected for the spouse of “Our” First Lady. A king bed in a suite fit for a President! An adjoining Napoleonic antique deluxe bedroom makes it a perfect family home.

Barter Playhouse – Suite 423
Enjoy a stay in this salute to an American Institution. Memorabilia adorns the walls and guests will feel transformed to the stage! A charming private balcony glimpsing the Barter through the trees adds to the mystique.

The History Nook – Suite 410
So much to tell about this remarkable building and so little space on the walls. This charming, cozy suite will whisk guests back in time, but still provide all the modern conveniences!

The Dorm Room – Suite 403
College students might not have enjoyed quite the same high standards of hospitality in their dorm rooms 100 years ago, but the hotel thinks guests will enjoy reflecting on their time spent in this charming accommodation.

The Abingdon – Suite 210
Founded in 1772, the town has been around eighty years longer than the Inn. In recognition of that fact, the staff created a very comfortable town suite that overlooks te front lawn on Main Street, showcasing a few of the unique features of the neighbors.

If guests have an appreciation for art, then they will love the indigenous pieces we showcase in this studio suite. The collection changes seasonally to reflect themes and ideas expressed by local and regional talent.
