donald ross course
One of the original golf courses at West Baden Springs was known as The Hill Course, designed by Donald James Ross in 1917. He is one of the few golf course architects to be admitted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. Out of Golf Digest's 100 Greatest Courses in the United States, Ross is responsible for designing 11 of them and basically laying the groundwork for the golf industry.
In 2005, the Cook Group, Inc. of Bloomington, Indiana sunk $5 million into restoring the course and renamed it after its designer.
Golf course patrons can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Hagen's Club House Restaurant where expansive panoramic views offer a refined setting. The club house is named after Walter Charles Hagen who won the 1924 PGA Championship right in French Lick.
