pete dye golf course
The Pete Dye Golf Course is the newest of the three courses at the French Lick Resorts. When Cook Group, Inc. of Bloomington, Indiana purchased West Baden Springs and French Lick Springs, they commissioned Pete Dye, one of the world's top architects, to build the new course on Mt. Airie.
The terrain was not ideal for a golf course, but Dye wasn't one to back down from a challenge. He declared he would "build the course whether they wanted me to or not." The 18-hole course officially opened in 2009.
The Pete Dye Clubhouse offers patrons lunch daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the second highest point in Indiana. The clubhouse is the updated mansion of former French Lick Springs Hotel owner, Thomas Taggart. Reservations are required.
