Savor the rich culinary heritage of The Biltmore Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is so much more than spotlights and celebrities. With a rich tapestry of immigrant communities and a reputation for being at the leading edge of American culture, it is also one of the best food cities in the country. So, as one of the city’s most storied hotels, it is no wonder The Biltmore Los Angeles has a dining scene to match. Here, guests can choose from three distinctive experiences in luxurious settings worthy of Hollywood’s biggest stars. In fact, these culinary venues have even taken to the screen themselves as backdrops for movies and shows like Daredevil, Blow, 24, and Glee.

Rendevous Court
Once the main lobby of The Biltmore Los Angeles, Rendezvous Court now serves as an elegant setting for all-day dining and afternoon tea, a hotel tradition since it was introduced to Angelinos in 1931. The space is resplendent in lavish design details, from the carved-wood Moorish ceiling that soars above to the rose marble fountain and stately Baroque stairwell that ground the room, all accented by glittering gold leaf. Although the café is also open daily for breakfast and lunch, from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the main event is the traditional afternoon tea, which is held each Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM. This indulgent dining experience features a selection of delicate sandwiches, pastries, and custom-blended teas, many of which were curated from some of the hotel’s menus from the 1920s and 1930s in a delicious tribute to The Biltmore's culinary heritage.

Smeraldi’s Restaurant
Much of The Biltmore Los Angeles’s iconic design can be attributed to Italian-born artist John B. Smeraldi, who created the many Spanish and Italian Renaissance-inspired frescoes that plaster many of the hotel’s ceilings. Open for breakfast, Smeraldi’s Restaurant pays homage to his legacy and the artistic mark he left on The Biltmore Los Angeles. Diners here greet the morning with elevated morning fare like benedicts with perfectly poached eggs and smoked salmon, succulent skirt steak, and shakshuka, as well as local favorites like breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros. The stars of the show, however, are the splendid murals that line the walls, which transport guests to the Mediterranean coast.

Gallery Bar and Grill
For those craving a nightcap and a filling yet sophisticated meal in a sumptuous setting, look no further than the Gallery Bar and Grill. This distinguished space is decorated with extravagantly carved pillars, rich paneled walls, and a handsome granite bar, all crowned with a grand ornamented ceiling. Diners will also notice graceful stone angels perched near the bar, a nod to the hotel’s logo and Los Angeles’s nickname of the City of Angels. These luxuriant surroundings are an exuberant accompaniment to upscale bar bites and entrées like tuna tartare, steak frites, and elevated tacos stuffed with blackened swordfish or portobello mushrooms.
