Appleby-in-Westmorland is the gateway to the Eden Valley. The Castle’s luxurious accommodation includes 12 classically appointed bedrooms and three self-contained cottages. Appleby Castle has been held by the Kings of England and Scotland and is one of the few remaining intact Norman keeps. Besides functioning as a hotel and event venue, the keep also acts as The Norman Centre, a museum dedicated to Norman history.
