Rua Cândido dos Reis, nº 21 Amarante 4600-055
The original property opened in 1899. A member of Historic Hotels Worldwide since 2023.
The original building of Casa das Lérias was erected in the 1930's as a bakery that produced regional sweets native to the area. The architectural features are based on the modernist movement at the time. The structure has now been transformed into a Portugal boutique hotel from the historic confectionery it was and still carries on the baking traditions of Alcino Dos Reis, who was the well-known confectioner in Amarante in the early 1900s. Apart from being a renowned culinary destination, the city has a strong connection to the arts and is home to many artists, muscians, and writers. There are many museums and local events that visitors can visit. Amarate was and has remained a bucolic, tranquil community that cultural heritage travelers love to visit.
