The hotel is placed in central location and just opposite the castle which is great. We went with my husband for a weekend away and must say our stay was perfect. From the time we arrived we were welcome by fantastic staff, bar and restaurant service , both dinner and breakfast was very professional , and especially in this difficult times everyone from the team respect the covid restrictions, we felt very safe. We would definitely come back and hope to see you all soon. Thank you for looking after us.

The castle hotel has always been our go to hotel when we want a night of relaxation and given the current difficulties we thought it would be ideal. Regrettably this wasn't the case. It seems to us that COVID has become an excuse for illogical decisions and in some cases poor service. To start with we couldn't book a meal in the restaurant because of Covid, secondly we couldn't have the breakfast at the time we wanted because of Covid. The final straw was the fact that we couldn't have a nespresso machine in our room despite the fact that this was stated on the information sent to us only a day before. This was a totally illogical decision from our perspective. Why on earth can you have a kettle and not a nespresso machine. When we made the booking there were two types of room we could have and the cost difference was about ?100. We chose the expensive one because of the nespresso machine. If we had known it wasn't available we would've gone for the cheaper room. Quite frankly the difference between the two rooms would've paid for a nespresso machine. Don't think we'll be returning in the short term and will wait until the castle hotel returns to its former standard rather than being what it appears at the moment which is an upmarket travelodge

I've been asked to leave a review so i will.
Checked in by nice polite member of staff.....problem was we were sent to wrong floor, then the wrong room and then the key that we were told specifically how to use didn't work. Luckily by this time a staff member had arrived with a working one!! I suppose not a big deal but its not much fun when its baking hot and you've been waiting to get into the room for a while. Although this was followed a little later by a complimentary fruit plate.
Room was really nice.....EXCEPT...some very clever designer had decided that the toilet cubicle should be made in glass (much like a shower). Now whilst I love my husband and have been with him for many years neither of us want to see the other performing natural but not particularly pleasant bodily functions. So not a great hit with us.
The bed was really comfy (the odour in the room not so much!), the reception and public areas very nice. The location is brilliant for the Castle and local amenities.
I found the staff very helpful although given covid restrictions some services were impaired particularly breakfast. I would also suggest that guests be told at check in that rooms are not being cleaned as a matter of course and should be requested instead 9although this had been communicated within an earlier email).
Check out was simple and luckily we didn't get hit with the normal ?25 per day parking charge (we were told this was a fairly average price for the area but managed to move to a local car park that cost less than that for whole stay).

The staff are helpful and friendly, that's good! Super Andy at the bar deserves a mention.
Our twin room was not really clean and so featureless we wanted to be out A helpful mature cleaning lady helped us out.
Breakfast so disappointing, at least provide a nice bread, not an awful sliced. Almost comedy mixups with orders made us all smile.
The colour scheme is predominantly brown, any art is bizarre and again a guest's gesture sent one odd metal thing flying. Was the person who arranged this interior malicious?
Very central. Parking at ?25 per night to be factored in.

Fantastic mini break - Felt totally Covid safe

Me and my family stayed at the Castle Hotel, the second week after it has reopened. We booked this trip as a celebration mini break for one of the family members.

This hotel hit the mark in so many areas, it's hard to explain exactly how happy we were we chose this hotel.

Firstly, I would like to convey how well the hotel is managing social distancing and hygiene. There is a system around the hotel which helps guests to avoid pinch points.
There is ample sanitiser available everywhere. The staff are very respectful of social distancing but also show you how pleased they are to welcome you.
The room was spotless, with a complimentary mask and hand sanitiser.
We ate in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and could not fault all the measures they are taking to keep their customers safe.
We left feeling very confident the hotel was completely on the ball with the health and safety measures.

Aside from the safety measures, the customer experience was exceptional. We had a surprise welcome in the room for the special occasion, courtesy of the hotel. The rooms were gorgeous and we loved having a few drinks in the bar, served by Andy!

For breakfast & dinner, we found the menu choices perfect and delicious. The service was just right, we were not rushed and felt very well looked after, especially by Magda, who was excellent!

Lastly the location of the hotel was wonderful. 2 minutes to the wonderful Windsor Castle and The Long Walk. The town was not too busy, so we enjoyed a spot of socially distanced shopping.

All in all, this was a perfect weekend break, where the hotel did a perfect job at making this a perfect trip with family!

Thank you to all at the Castle Hotel!
