  • Merchants Row offers fine cuisine soaked in a historic setting.....

    by TAR7 on 2018-10-13 05:23 pm

The Colonial Inn is one of the oldest Hotel's in our country. It was built prior to the Revolutionary War and comes with an abundance of history as well as its original architecture and decor along with stories of Haunted rooms........My wife and I went to attend a special wedding and reception that was catered by the Inn's own restaurant , which has been under new ownership since 2015.....
Both of us found the quality of the food and customer service quite impressive. My wife had the Chicken Picatta with lemon and butter sauce and basil with parmesan mashed potatoes. Her dish had a perfect texture and taste that was unforgettable. My choice was an 8oz. Filet Mignon served with butter roasted carrots over mashed potatoes. It was one of the best steaks I've ever had and melted perfectly into my taste buds.....
Based on this first visit I'd say that the future is looking very good for the Merchants Row restaurant............We're looking forward to going back very soon....Perhaps we'll do breakfast next ?

  • So So Colonial ambience.

    by Cindy P on 2018-10-11 02:40 pm

The rooms are tired and dated, the bathroom looked more up to date but was tiny. The food wasn't bad, just mediocre. Its a nice location and that's what must keep them in business. The old part of the inn is charming, but its seems like they gave up every where else.

    Owner Response
    Hi Cindy,
Thank you for your direct and honest review of Concord's Colonial Inn. You'll be happy to know we are actually in the process of a refresh of all our common areas, including the Lobby and restaurants, that will bring new furniture and decor that maintain the classic colonial feel while bringing a new level of quality and style to the property. We do plan to carry this same concept up into the guest rooms once the common areas are completed. As part of this, we are also working on introducing a new food and beverage menu - one that we will be updating seasonally going forward and focusing on fresh and local ingredients. As part of a new management team here, I can assure you we have not given up and are just getting started in bringing the Colonial Inn up to the standards we all know it should hold. I have reached out to you directly via email as well and hope to have you back at the Colonial Inn in the future.

    Sincerely,

    Andy Seidel

  • My stay at Colonial Inn

    by peterbE5791XF on 2018-10-11 05:52 am

Great weekend! Room was ready and we were greeted in a friendly manner. One note: Room 37 master bedroom bed could use some attention - very noisy, but overall stay was marvelous. Plenty to do around the hotel, historic, small shops.

  • Excellent food, awesome history, great people!

We stayed at the Colonial Inn in early October and we're very pleased with the food, especially the best crabcakes to be found, the history of the Inn, the staff, and the beauty of the location. Make sure you soak up all the history of early America and American literature.

  • Last-minute Treasure

    by Darlene F on 2018-10-09 03:39 am

While on a casual fall foliage tour, we made a last-minute reservation at the Colony Inn. The charming "last available room" was a gem! Although relatively small, the room had a super comfortable bed with luxury sheets and pillows. Perched over the inn's central hall, we were treated to a huge, we'll-appointed lounging deck.
