    A beautiful autumn day adds further grandeur to this hotel. The Family plus room is quite spacious and has a great view. The decor is aligned with the overall building and it's history. Comfort , cleanliness, hospitality etc are all of a high standard, I have come to expect from Hilton. Covid protocols were vigorously followed making us feel safe.
    Breakfast was good and kids had a pool to enjoy in. Highly recommended for people who want to explore Stiring ( 5 miles ) or Perth (25 miles) or just want to relax in beautiful surroundings.

    Lovely food, great service, all government guidelines followed. Lovely restaurant with tranquil atmosphere and comfortable seating. We would highly recommend for a celebration or just for a delicious meal.

    I booked a family room with a sofa bed for a one night stay for 3 adults (2 adults and a 17year old). I spoke to the hotel before I booked to check if it was a child or adult rate due to age. There was also a muck up with rates as the rate I had showing was different to what they had but they assured me, after speaking to their it department there was nothing wrong. I sent them screenshots of the rate I was getting (a difference of ?50) but they wouldn't honour it!)

    When we arrived we were greeted with the lovely warm cookie. Our room was ready about half an hour early which was great. When we got to the room (214), I saw that it was a lovely size with a corner sofa not made up then noticed the small single roll away bed. My daughter is 5ft 10" so this was not big enough for her. I had also booked a room with a sofa bed. I went to reception and was told as I had booked for an adult it is the roll away bed and not the sofa bed as the mattress is much better on the roll away bed as the sofa bed mattress is very thin! I said that the mattress on the roll away bed was awful and the bed was far too small and I also hadn't booked this. I was told they would change it to the sofa bed. I told them the sofa in the room wasn't a sofa bed but I was assured it was and it would be changed. The reception girl was a bit nippy and not very apologetic!

    We went out for a walk and when we returned it still hadn't been changed. I thought it may be changed when we went for dinner.

    We had dinner in the restaurant - it was fantastic. I can't fault the food or the service. Well done.

    We returned to our room at 9.30 and the sofa bed still hadn't been made up. My daughter at this point wasn't feeling well and wanted to go for a shower so we didn't want someone coming to our room as there was nowhere else for us to go (lockdown - so bar etc shut).
    My daughter slept on the sofa putting sheets on it as it was longer and wider than the roll away bed. She was up all night then was sick in the morning and missed breakfast. (I'm sure just a bug).

    Breakfast again was fantastic.

    When we checked out I was asked about our stay I said about the bed situation and the girl reiterated that an adult would have a roll away bed but this is nowhere on the website and all the pictures for a family room and when you speak to reservations it is a double sofa bed. I also said that the room was not very clean. Dirt on the floor of the bathroom , soap marls, the tv was covered in dust and splash marks which I had to clean and under the cushions of the sofa (I was checking to see if it was a sofa bed - it wasn't) was a wrapper and a huge amount of crumbs. I was given ?20 off because they didn't make up the sofa bed and as my daughter missed breakfast they took off ?12.

    I think room cleanliness at this time especially is key. Also carrying out what you said you would do would help. Also give the customer what they paid for.

    I don't think we will return to Dunblane to stay unless there was an assurance that house keeping standards had improved. I would however love to return to the restaurant.

    We stayed recently, just for a break away, amidst all this covid craziness. The hotel had every guideline and precaution in place. The staff were diligent, helpful and incredibly lovely. They worked terribly hard to make our stay special and feel as normal as could be.
    The pool was still open and the slots were organised and numbers controlled.
    The food was delicious, both at breakfast and in the evening. Although alcohol is prohibited publicly, room service was speedy and friendly, even though the hotel was busy.
    I appreciate the hard work put in by all the team members I encountered- they really made this trip great.
    Put Hilton Dunblane Hydro at the top of your list, if you want a great stay in a beautiful location.

    Not what I expected from 4*. No one at reception on arrival unmaned reception for 4* not good. Room very tired looking and dust on top of mirrors in bathroom and bedroom not acceptable. Half used toilet roll in bathroom. I have NEVER been to a hotel where there has never been anything but new rolls. In this time of pandemic do they deep clean the toilet roll which has been left by previous occupants????quiet worrying also when you see members of housekeeping staff walking around hotel one with face mask covering only mouth the other round his neck.
    Breakfast was very rushed still eating fruit salad when cooked breakfast arrived. Was given coffee but no milk. Waiting staff seemed to ignore me when going round tables offering top up of juice tea and coffee.....was that because I was a solo female...I would hope not.
    The whole hotel very tired looking door frames in corridors noted to be bashed and require attention.
    Standard reading lamp in bedroom not working attempted to phone front desk on a few occasions with no answer. Again not acceptable for 4* and cost of overnight stay
