Once a private residence for some of the fortress town’s merchants and other successful businesspeople, Gamlebyen Hotell Fredrikstad fittingly retains much of its inviting, homelike ambiance. Only 15 cozy guestrooms and two slightly more spacious suites are available, with each thoughtfully appointed with all of the necessary creature comforts and decorated in its own unique style. All told, one could not ask for a more convenient or charming place to unwind after a day spent exploring the cobblestone streets of the Old Town.
