  • Great hotel, but everything more than the basics costs $

    I enjoyed my stay at this hotel! I was clean, comfortable, and virtually everything that you could ever need was located within the building itself. I stayed in a double room with a friend that, to our great surprise, only had one bed (not great), but everything else--the mattress, the bathroom, the fridge--were all good.

    One thing to note: virtually everything other than the room itself costs money. If you are not a Hilton Honors member, you must pay for Wifi. You also must pay $15 per day to use the gym, unless you just want to run the track or swim in the pool. There were no water fountains in the building that I could find, so it's either free sink water or expensive bottled water.

  • Outstanding hospitality

    I have been to a number of Hilton properties around the US and this is by far the best. I received exceptional service from two people specifically, Julius Doxy and Marvin Carbajal. I travel all the time and I received great hospitality here which was really nice and hard to come by.

  • Health Club

    Absolutely the best gym in all of Chicagoland hotels. Indoor pool, sauna, track (yes, a track) and every dumbbell/ anaerobic piece of equipment you could possibly want.

    Oscar, who greats you at the sign in area is absolutely fantastic. His professionalism is only bested by his memory (remembered my name in-between three week stay).

    Equipment is well maintained, cleaned daily and new (love the pelotons!).

    I choose Hilton Chicago for the gym over my next favorite the Wit.

  • Decent Hotel Great Location

    I recently stayed at the Hilton Chicago while taking my son on a tour of one of the colleges nearby. This was my second time staying in the hotel. It's location near several colleges as well as the beautiful park was a plus. The room was updated and clean. It had 2 bathrooms which was a great perk with our 2 teens in the room. Check in was hassle free and we were offered the option of an upgrade to our room for a nominal fee which we declined but it was nice to have the option. When we did have an issue with our room (the mini fridge wasn't working) maintenance came within a reasonable amount of time to address and fix the issue. Staff was professional and friendly. Parking is available but we did not use it this time. My biggest complaint was that there were Hilton employees stationed by the elevators trying to sell vacation club memberships. At first I thought it was just hotel security checking for key cards and then got stuck talking to this sales person for 10 minutes. I finally just said I wasn't interested and walked away while she was still talking. I got approached twice during my stay. I found this to be extremely annoying and thought is was inappropriate to station them by the elevators. The other thing to know is that NOTHING is given away for free here. There is a gym but you have to pay for a day pass. There is wifi but if you want it in your room, you have to pay. We are Hilton Honors members but we weren't able to get free wifi because we book via a 3rd party as we were cashing in rewards points from another company. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast but it was very pricey for what was offered. There were better breakfast options within close walking distance. Overall, a nice place to stay in downtown Chicago.

  • Great Place to Stay on Michigan Ave

    Very beautiful ball room. This hotel would make for a great place to have a wedding or an event. The staff was great and very friendly. I thought the rooms were very typical for most Hilton locations. Also a great place to get your shoes shined!
