    What can I say! We had a marvelous time. The hotel even though it has a history was well kept the room on the 19th floor with the Lake view was wonderful. We had a nice time period and I would like to visit again

    I would like to thank Jacinda and Annie for the very informative tour. I was the only one on this tour but they spent the time and energy for the entire time. Thanks! Next time I stay will bring my wife on the tour.

  • Historic property and friendly staff undone by nickel-and-diming.

    This property could be so much more than it is, which is disappointing because they're close. Check-in lines were short and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, my room wasn't ready until after 4:30 when published check-in time is 3. I know the staff were trying to get me into a better room, so I don't want to be too hard on them here.
    The room was comfortable and spacious, though as others have mentioned you can hear traffic from any room on the property, so you will want to have white noise.
    There were frustrating things where the hotel was more interested in making a quick buck than helping the traveler. For example, free continental breakfast for Hilton Diamonds. Even though the sign said that the continental grab-and-go included a choice of coffee, water, or juice, my only options were juice or coffee. This didn't make much sense as the juice cost more as an a la carte option, but the man at the counter insisted that it was the case despite me clarifying what his sign and the coupon said twice. They also will only hold your bags at checkout for $3, a small fee that can't bring much to the bottom line but that I've never seen until I stayed here.
    They have a text system that allows their customer service reps to text you throughout your stay, but the texts ranged from trolling for 10s to requests for information already in the profile they had for me. It's a lovely property to see, but there's better options in the Loop area.

  • Decent

    I come to this hotel for Soxfest every January and the hotel for the most part is pretty good. In one of our rooms though, the plumbing kept make noise at night time. It's classic hotel and the rooms are nice. Hopefully they work on some upgrades.

  • Very Nice Hotel with a classic feel

    Yeah, the hotel is older, but it is definitely a classic. It has a great parking garage that is attached to the hotel. The rooms were a little smaller than newer hotels, but we had a room with two bathrooms which was awesome for a family.

    The location is awesome. It is a little south of the River and Wacker Drive, but still close enough to walk. By being across the street from Grant Park made you really feel a different type of Chicago.

    The only negative was the cost of the buffet. For a family of four, spending $150 on breakfast was not very cool. I would definitely, vote for other lower cost options than eating at the breakfast buffet.
