Once a seafront warehouse built in 1904, Hotel Brosundet is a structural masterpiece in the heart of historic Ålesund. Though it stopped operating during the 1980s, Brosundet still celebrates its maritime past within its premier seafood restaurant, Maki. This magnificent building features distinctive Art Nouveau architecture, as well as a historic lighthouse. The renowned design firm, Snøhetta, oversaw much of Hotel Brosundet’s remarkable renovations, preserving the building’s historic character without sacrificing much in the way of modern comfort. Most of the original wood and brick remain, and the decór of the hotel wonderfully captivates the rustic ambiance of the surrounding community. Situated in the heart of the colorful town of Ålesund, Hotel Brosundet is close to many amazing shops, restaurants, and boats.
