  • Discover the royal roots of Hotel Savoia & Jolanda, a 19th-century palatial hotel. While historical records are scarce regarding the exact origins of the hotel, a postcard from the early 19th century depicts the structure as the “Bavaria e Jolanda.” The name was an homage to the famous union between the Princess Henriette Adelaide of Savoy and Ferdinand Maria, Elector of Bavaria, in 1650.

  • Explore the nearby Peggy Guggenheim Collection, one of the most important museums of European and American art of the twentieth century. Peggy was a frequent guest at Hotel Savoia & Jolanda, visiting for the first time in 1948 during the XXIV Venice Art Biennale.

  • Admire the royal history of the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda preserved in and around the hotel. Inside, several portraits of different princesses line the walls of the Principessa Restaurant. The bond with the Italian royal family continues just outside the hotel with the prominent equestrian statue dedicated to the king Vittorio Emanuele II to remember the tenth anniversary of his death. The statue was inaugurated in 1887 by the king Umberto I and the queen Margherita Savoia.
