Vestkantbadet's Cold Plunge Pool The Nordic culture has long touted the benefits of saunas and ice baths to improve lymphatic, immune, digestive, and circulatory systems. To that end, Sommerro's spa, Vestkantbadet, has converted the site's original Roman baths to a cold plunge pool combined with an infrared sauna. Vestkantbadet's cold plunge pool is kept at 46° Fahrenheit. From there, it's a short walk to the infrared sauna.

Vestkantbadet’s Indoor Pool Swimmers will marvel at the pool wall showcasing an original mosaic by celebrated Norwegian artist Per Krohg, entitled "Swimming Women and Seals."

Named after Per Krohg’s wife—Lucy was a renowned Parisian model, artist, and muse—this cozy café is located in the lobby and serves tasty takeaway bites, including salads, sandwiches, and cakes, as well as an array of beverages.

Exterior Nighttime Image Sommerro with its hand-hammered bare brick façade dates back to the 1930s when the building was headquarters for the city’s electrical company, Oslo Lysverker. The hotel's name originates from its address, Sommerrogata 1, with Sommerrogata meaning "Sommerro road." From 1700–1900, Sommerro was also the name of an area where landlords owned country retreats, further reflecting the hotel's ethos of being a home full of memorable and enjoyable experiences. Sommerro, a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide since 2022, dating backing to 1930.

Tavern Hall (Krohgsalen) For large-scale events, the Tavern Hall was once the employee canteen for the former power company and now boasts elaborate ceiling frescoes created by Norwegian artist Per Krohg, best known for his 1952 mural for peace that was gifted to the United Nations Security Council. The Tavern Hall provides 2,637 sq ft of event space with separate kitchen and small bar.

Light Works Scene (Lysverker Scene) Theater With 3,229 sq ft, Light Works Scene is a 200-seat theater that pays homage to Hollywood's glamorous golden age and the great European opera houses. The curved podium showcases stardust lighting and lavender tones inspired by Norwegian artist Harald Sohlberg's painting of a mermaid emerging from the fjord in the moonlight. The theater space comes with its own backstage entrance, bar, and dressing room area—and is ideal for special events and performances.
