- Discover the fairytale Swiss Chalet façade of Visnes Hotel Stryn. During the interwar period, the Visnes family expanded the hotel and launched an exterior renovation that transformed the façade. Architectural features typical of the famous Swiss Chalet style were added, including gabled roofs, wide eaves, balconies, large windows, and white weatherboarding.

Each design is unique and representative of Jugendstil, an artistic style that featured Art Nouveau designs and arose in the mid-1890s and continued through the first decade of the 20th century.
