As the name suggests, 1754 House first opened to visitors in the year 1754. The structure was constructed as early as 1736 by Anthony Stoddard and became an inn in the mid-18th century.

- Travel to the renowned Litchfield Historical District. A U.S. National Historic Landmark District, this fascinating historic site constitutes the borders of downtown Litchfield. In fact, the U.S. Department of the Interior has since deemed the area to be one of the best-preserved examples of an 18th-century New England village.

- Experience the verdant hiking trails that wind throughout Flanders Nature Center. The Flanders Nature Center was originally created by Natalie Van Vleck during the 1960s, who wished to conserve the beautiful natural ecosystem that surrounded Woodbury. Today, guests can participate in exciting educational programs about the area’s natural history at the renovated Van Vleck farmhouse.
- Tour the Mattatuck Museum in nearby Waterbury. Originally established as the Waterbury Historical Society in the 19th century, this outstanding cultural institution has since become one of the major destinations for art lovers in central Connecticut. Located right down the road from the celebrated Litchfield Historic District, this terrific distillery offers everything from homemade bottles of bourbon whiskey to novelty cocktails. - Savor a variety of locally made wines along the prestigious Connecticut Wine Trail. Among the wineries situated on the trail is the Walker Road Vineyards just north of downtown Woodbury.
