• Explore the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum nearby. At the core of the museum is the permanent exhibit, which allows visitors to experience highlights from the president and Mrs. Ford’s lives. In addition to the permanent exhibits, changing temporary exhibits draw artifacts from museums all over the country.

• Visit the Grand Rapids Public Museum to explore three floors of exhibits about science, history, and culture. Visit the Cook Carousel Pavilion on the first floor to take a spin on a 1928 Spillman Carousel, which is one of only three produced by the company. Experience the forces of the universe in the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium also in the museum.

• Roam around the John Ball Zoo mere moments away. Spanning 140 acres, the zoo houses over 2,000 animals as well as a 40,000-gallon aquarium and there’s a funicular up to the upper areas of the park. Tigers, pelicans, penguins, and many other creatures are sure to entertain. Stroll along the Wild Way Trail or the Forest Realm Trail, both are wooded trails that offer a different view of various animals.
