Today, the Ariel Broadway Hotel remains a fixture in the Lorain community. It is located on Broadway Street, which is the city's downtown corridor. - Discover the striking Neoclassical Revival architecture of this wonderful historic hotel. The structure was originally intended to be a commercial complex designed to house Lorain’s best shops and businesses.

- Explore the beautiful Lakeview Rose Garden, which was originally created in May of 1932. The Lorain Rotary was one of 17 community organizations that sponsored the event and their wheel-shaped logo inspired the shape of the garden. garden includes 2,500 roses planted in 48 beds.
- Take a tour of the Lorain Harbor Lighthouse. The light was built in 1917 on Lake Erie by the United States Army Corps of Engineers and remained in service until 1965. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and is often considered to be one of the most iconic symbols of Lorain.
- Wonder at the mysterious Black River Ghost Ship. Although historical records exist that outline some of the ownership of this 90-foot ship, those records end in 1999 – a full year before the ship appeared in the Black River.
Experience
- Experience a show at the nearby Palace Theater which dates back to 1928. It was Ohio's first motion picture cinema to screen a talking picture. A pre-release of Paramount's "Something Always Happens," starring Neil Hamilton and Esther Ralston, was the opening night film and the first talkie to be shown in Ohio. Today the theater shows movies, plays, and musical acts.
- Enjoy a baseball game at the Mercy Health Stadium, the home of the Lake Erie Crushers, a minor league team. They play in the Frontier League's West Division, an independent baseball league that is not affiliated with Major League Baseball.
- Hike the trails at the Black River Reservation and see the gorgeous waterfall located within the park. Other highlights include the Bridgeway Trail which features a 1,000-foot bridge that crosses the Black River twice.
- See an original Frank Lloyd Wright house when you visit the Weltzheimer/Johnson House. This Usonian-style home was constructed in 1948 and 1949 and serves as an example of Wright's answer to the demand for beautiful yet affordable homes for middle-class Americans.

- Taste incredible seafood cuisine at Dodie’s Dockside at the Ariel Broadway Hotel. Some of the most popular dishes at the restaurant include the Lobster Roll, and the Linguine, which is served with clams and a white wine and garlic sauce.
- Enjoy classic pub fare like burgers, wings, and fries at Game On Lorain. This sports bar is the ideal place to watch a game in a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere.
- Indulge in freshly baked cakes and other baked goods at Cakes by the Lake. This local bakery sells a selection of homemade individual treats like macarons and cupcakes, but they take custom orders for 6” – 12” cakes that can serve a group.
