The traditional Stone Cottages at Bear Mountain Inn offer a true off-the-grid experience, free from the distraction of WiFi connectivity. Ideal for those looking for an authentic, rustic cabin experience, each cottage includes a front porch, a dry bar, microwave, mini-refrigerator, and common living area with wood-burning fireplace. Six individual guestrooms come furnished with a queen-size bed and private bath.

Merry Go Round Pavilion
An 8,000 sq ft stone and timber rotunda, the Merry Go Round Pavilion is situated across from the Great Lawn at the Bear Mountain Inn. The rotunda houses a hand-crafted carousel with hand-painted scenes of the park on the carousel’s rounding boards. Riders can take a twirl on one of two decorated benches or a bevy of carved horses and animals native to the Hudson River Valley: black bear, bobcats, brown rabbit, deer, eagles, raccoons, red fox, river otters, and wild turkeys. The rotunda also features a viewing area, fireplace hearth, and catering facilities.

Bronze bears stand sentinel, flanking the massive stone fireplace at Bear Mountain Inn. In 1915, park employees utilized stone obtained from old walls on dwellings acquired for Bear Mountain State Park to construct both fireplaces at the inn, as well as wall façades. Above the log mantel hangs a giant tapestry depicting a yawning Rip Van Winkle awakening from a lengthy slumber.

Historical Image Of Dodgers Practicing On The Great Lawn
In the 1930s, the Brooklyn Dodgers made Bear Mountain Inn and adjacent athletic facilities their baseball training headquarters. The New York Giants football and the New York Knickerbockers basketball teams of the 1930s followed suit.
