This was our first stop en route to Florida from New York State. It is the coolest, historical, pet-friendly hotel we have ever stayed in on our travels south. The customer service was outstanding despite the very short time we spent there and our Maine coon cat seemed to enjoy being there with us, too.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Blackburn Inn. The building is really cool and well-renovated with an interesting history prior to it becoming a hotel. The location is excellent, the town of Staunton has lots of great food options and is fun to wander around and its really close to great hiking and vineyards.

I travel to the Blackburn Inn on four separate occasions from November 2020 through January 2021. Each time the staff were extremely pleasant, friendly, and professional and helpful. The staff were really the best part of the experience. The e key never worked on the room key app. I ended up having to switch to the physical key each time. A couple of times I had to walk from the side of the hotel all the way to the front of the hotel in the freezing cold because e key did not work..
The hotel itself was very quaint and visually appealing. However, on closer inspection I found that each of the four rooms I stayed in were dusty. Either the lightbulbs in the bathroom were dusty or the tops of the furniture were a little dusty. The rooms were also noisy. I suppose most of this is unavoidable because it is an older building and it's not insulated as well as newer construction. The train kept me awake most of the night when I stayed on the train side of the building. When I stayed on the other side of the building the HVAC system was so loud that I had to wear ear plugs. I didn't find any of the beds or pillows to be very comfortable. And I had to ask for extra comforters because the bedding was so thin.
Lastly, it was difficult to be an extended stay guest with no cleaning service. My first 2 stays, they provided a couple of cleaning services but the last 2 didn't have that provision. I would say all in all they could do a better job with painting walls and tidying up rooms. All in all, the staff were the best part of the experience but the physical rooms were not up to my living standards. Of course, I'm comparing to my own comfortable, clean home or the level of an Omni or Ritz Carlton.
Thank you for your time and attention.

We have wanted to stay at the Blackburn Inn for a while and it was everything we wanted and more! The staff was super friendly and the rooms were clean and very pretty! We enjoyed the little bakery in the morning as well. Can't wait to come back.
