    Perfect luxury relaxing retreat!

We had stayed at The Inn at Willow Grove more than 8 years ago when our son was attending the Woodberry Forest School. My wife and I were looking for a relaxing getaway for her birthday where we weren't going to be knocked in the face and reminded the entire time of what we cannot do anymore because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Inn at Willow Grove is the perfect spot to relax even during covid times. The inn has many different types of accommodations spread around the property so socially distancing was not an issue while to enjoying the beautifully manicured grounds. The design of the building both inside and out is spot on, creating a harmonious yet luxurious comfortable feeling. The spa was a new addition since the last time we stayed at the property offering a nice variety of services. We stayed in the Butlers cottage and I would highly recommend it for privacy and space with an outside private deck and patio. The only suggestion I would make is that because of the remote location and limited places to eat ,that they offer room service through out the day. We returned from a hike on Sunday afternoon at 3pm when brunch in the restaurant was over and the bar was closed and there was no where to get any food until 5:30 we were told, we had to leave the property to get McDonalds.

The Inn at Willow Grove is as beautiful and tranquil as the website and pictures suggest. Set in picturesque rolling hills. Wonderful staff who greet guests with a glass of prosecco and a warm welcome. We drove down from NJ just to getaway and couldn't be happier with our choice of Inns. The restaurant Vintage and the Pub offer a great selection of food and drinks. WE booked creek side #10, just over the hill from the main Inn. You can park right in front. The room itself has all the amenities you could ask for and the morning French press coffee and beignets are just the icing on top. We will be back.

We booked at the inn to reward ourselves for keeping our almost 1-year old alive, during a pandemic no less. We opted to bring him with us to prove to ourselves we are still "hip" and can travel despite the aforementioned child. We sequestered ourselves in the butler's cottage, which was even nicer than the photos. Who knew heated tile floor is amazing? The gas fireplace in the bedroom is also a nice touch.

We ordered room service for both dinner and breakfast. While it was a shame to eat such nice meals on coffee table with a baby cramping our style, the food was so much better than expected. The medium rare filet was perfectly cooked and the breakfast, while simple, was hands down the best hotel breakfast I've had.

The staff also asked several times if the baby needed anything. While I have no idea what they offer babies, the gesture was nice.

Employees were in masks without fail. We always felt safe. The grounds are lovely and bucolic. We appreciated that the fire pits were going early in the evening so we could enjoy them. They even gave us a complimentary bottle of Prosecco due to a very minor confusion. We'll be back.

We traveled with some good friends of ours to drop their son off at Woodberry Forest. Our friends had booked the travel arrangements and when we arrived at The Inn at Willow Grove, I fell in love with its charm. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and not mention the house. We were greeted at the door of registration with a warm welcome. The staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and escorted us to our room. That night we had booked a spa treatment..... All I have to say, you HAVE to book the spa. Later that evening we had dinner reservations at the restaurant. The food and staff were EXCELLENT! Everything about our stay was top notch and highly recommend for a romantic getaway or just a getaway!!!

We wanted a very special place for 3 nights and were pampered beyond our already high expectations. Friends had recommended Willow Grove for a memorable getaway and relaxing experience. My wife used the spa and said people were professional in every way. Our suite, 'the master's quarters' in the main house, was over the top with our private balcony porch (literally) overhanging the arrival circle driveway and under the column portico - see it pictured above the front door. Each meal was another culinary surprise - chef Andrew came to our table to make sure we were pleased. Food, beverage and every need were impeccably served whether in the dining room or our suite which we loved. Super trained, genuinely warm and professional staff worked as a team like a family to joyfully address our many wishes. Staff everywhere you turned allowed us as guests to be invisible when we wanted to be; and, they were attentive immediately when we needed anything. We learned at our departure that many staff are long term in tenure and see themselves as a family. There were small private areas to sit, drink, dine, both inside and around the grounds - we took our desert in a little outdoor spot with fire pits placed around the garden that provided warmth on New Year's Eve. We were able to chat with elegant and fun guests from interesting places when we wanted, and also found plenty of spaces to be separated from other guests when we wanted privacy. It was the kind of place we hated to leave.
