• Explore The Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum. This is the historic home of American writer Ernest Hemingway, where he wrote and lived for more than ten years. The home was built in 1851 in the heart of Old Town Key West. Tour the rooms and wander the beautiful grounds and imagine the prolific period of this Nobel Prize winner’s career.

• Take a short walk to The Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea to gaze upon Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto. In 1922, Sister Louis Gabriel and her fellow nuns created the grotto. On the day that the shrine was dedicated, Sister Gabriel blessed the grotto and said that as long as the grotto stood, “Key West would never experience the full brunt of a hurricane.”
