The Post Office Special Event Bar The Lodge at Wakulla Springs was home to the first post office in Wakulla County! Though its post office days are over, it has been transformed into a Special Event Bar serving fun drinks for guests. It is located at the end of the Soda Fountain and still holds a few of the original pieces of post office equipment.

Old Joe Old Joe was an 11-foot-long alligator of undetermined age (some said he was 300) who lived on a sand bar in Wakulla Springs. He never bothered anybody -- not even the children and pets who swam around him. He was much beloved by the locals until he was shot dead by a poacher in 1966.

Exterior Courtyard The Lodge At Wakulla Springs is surrounded by 6,000 acres of forest and is considered North Florida’s castle for its extensive history. Built in 1937 by Edward Ball, an industrialist, this Lodge is regarded as one of the most beautiful properties of its period.

Soda Fountain Dining here takes a creative turn with its Soda Fountain parlor, main dining room and special events bar venue! The Soda Fountain Parlor features the famous classic counter built with one piece of marble that was cut and book-matched to make a symmetrical pattern at every joint. The counter is whopping 70 inches long! The Soda Fountain is known for its retro vibe featuring Root Beer Floats, Cherry Phosphates, Ginger Yips and classic sundaes. Traditional soda fountain-style food like hot dogs, chili, and sandwiches can also be found.

Indoor Movie Theater With Concession Stand Enjoy evenings in the Grand Lobby, as well. The Lodge often has live music and the lobby staff is on hand to mix a cocktail, if desired. The Lodge’s fireplace is wonderful to sit around when the weather is cool. Guests can gaze upon the Springs from the terrace and hopefully see some manatees, or one of the Park's other wild guests.
