This recipe was given to Miss Lucille Benson (later Mrs. Robert Jefferson Walker) in 1941 by Mr. Mason Alexander, Manager of the Poinsett Hotel. With much debate over the secret ingredient, The Westin Poinsett's famous spoonbread recipe is a favorite among locals and visitors.
