    A co worker and I spent two nights in the Tower section of the Amway Grand. On arrival Amway Grand parking was "FULL" which meant we had to use alternate parking and a long "bag drag" to the lobby. We found that the beds and bedding were comfortable. The toiletries provided were unsealed and possibly refilled to save money. One would expect at the rate we were paying that our toiletries would be much higher end. Another cost saving measure was the invitation to for go room cleaning for a $5 voucher at Starbucks. Having decided to "Go Green" and hang our towels to dry there was only 1 Towel hook for a 4 person room. Room service items including a half empty bowl of soup remained outside in the hall for the duration of our stay. The temperature in the room could not be adjusted so we used the fan which meant nasty, dry air was recirculated throughout the room. The shower head was aged and the pressure was low. The fitness and pool facilities were under construction. There were maybe 5 treadmill, 3 eliptical machines and a handful of stationary bikes all sandwiched into a very small space. When needing front desk support the "front desk" button was not in serviced leading us to call room service and then be transferred to the front. We were then placed on hold and never answered. To top this all off the Tower section was meant to have 4 operable elevators and only 1 was functioning at our departure. The emergency stairs were not accessible. We will return for our annual CEC conference but we will be staying at the JW Marriot.

  • The Grand of Grand Rapids

    I was attending a banquet near the hotel. If you are looking for activities there are so many choices. Performing Arts, museums, bars and night life, and many restaurants to chose from. Had a comfortable room with a south river view.

    I have stayed at all of the 4 star Hotels in Grand Rapids and the Amway is the Best. Plenty of dining options room service menu has something for everyone. Beds and pillows are good... Some rooms have "River View" some better than others... overall very welcoming and nice place

    Everything was perfect. Staff was very helpful and nice. The lobby was super clean and nice. Everything was fancy. Only thing I was not fond of was the card I reserved the room with I thought would be charged was not. It was the card I provided at the counter when I checked in. Now I am waiting to be reimbursed. Wish they would have just charged the card I reserved the room with.

    We enjoyed our visit to the Amway Grand. It is a great location and close to many places to explore. The staff was very friendly, room clean and they have a nice variety of restaurants to choose from.
