Centrally located with breathtaking views of the famous Brandenburg Gate, the legendary Hotel Adlon Kempinski offers guests a memorable stay. The Hotel Adlon owes its name to its original owner, Lorenz Adlon, who invested 20 million gold marks and two years into the creation of the hotel, which first opened on October 23, 1907. Decades later in 1997, the Adlon was revamped and has since earned a reputation as Berlin’s most illustrious hotel. Today, the hotel is once again the gathering place of heads of state, royals, politicians, stars and starlets, intellectuals, artists, designers, and entrepreneurs, which ensures that there will never be a dull moment once one enters the magnificent world that is the Adlon.

The hotel’s location is the most prestigious in the German capital. Any major outdoor event in the city will have its start or finish at the Brandenburg Gate and therefore will be at the hotel’s doorstep. It is in the middle of the governmental and Embassy district as well. Berlin’s most significant sights and monuments are only a stroll away. A comprehensive cultural repertoire, such as the Museum Island and exclusive shopping opportunities, is easily accessible via public transport, which is within walking distance.

Explore

  • Explore the rebuilt Reichstag just a few minutes to the north of the hotel. This iconic destination is the home of Germany’s national parliament and features brilliant Renaissance Revival-style architecture. It’s a reconstruction of the earlier parliamentary building that once stood at the location in the 1890s.
  • Visit Potsdamer Platz right down the road. Once the source for the main thoroughfare connecting Berlin to neighboring Potsdam, this iconic public square is home to many amazing storefronts, art galleries, and theaters.
  • Travel to the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche. The ruins of a magnificent church constructed during the 1890s, the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche is among Berlin’s most noteworthy attractions. Originally dedicated to Kaiser Wilhelm I, the church today now acts as a monument commemorating lasting peace and reconciliation.

Short for “Kaufhaus des Westens” (“Department Store of the West” in English), KaDeWe has provided the finest luxury goods to Berliners since 1907. This historic department store is among the best places to shop in all of Europe with its seven massive floors of merchandise and food.
  • Attend a wonderful concert at the Berliner Philharmonie. Home to the famous Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, this marvelous venue consists of two outstanding theater halls that are capable of hosting up to 3,600 people.
