The Classic Rooms overlook the peaceful inner-garden terrace. Sofitel has equipped each Classic Room with a signature Sofitel MyBed, Nespresso machine, and a safe deposit box. Rooms also come with complimentary WiFi and high-speed Internet access. Classics come complete with a comfortable bathroom and walk-in rain shower.

High ceilings and grand windows define the architectural aesthetics of each Superior Room, which bring you closer to the rich history of the building. Many of the Superior Rooms even display the traditional brickwork used when the Dutch Admiralty renovated the location. Each room features such amenities like a twin or double-sized Sofitel MyBed, a Nepressso machine, and Hermès toiletries. The Superior Rooms offer wonderful views overlooking the garden, the nearby canals, or the courtyard.

Famous French designer Sybille de Margerie combined timeless grandeur with contemporary Dutch style, when she designed the interior of the Luxury Rooms. The Luxury Rooms combine intricately woven textiles with sophisticated furnishing, rendering every Luxury Room a stunning sight to behold. Luxury Rooms come complete with a signature Sofitel MyBed, as well as a bathroom outfitted with the latest in high-tech entertainment. A tribute to the royal patrons who have stayed at The Grand line the walls of every Luxury Room, giving guests an irreplaceable historical sense of place.

Imperial Suites draw their inspiration from the legendary people who resided at the Grand Amsterdam over the centuries, including William the Silent and Queen Maria de Medici of France. Each suite is named after a historical figure that stayed within the building throughout The Grand’s past. Imperial Suites come with a spacious sitting area that include a dining table, and a 65-inch, flat-screen television. The large bedrooms within the Imperial Suites have walk-in closets, as well as a lovely bath equipped with a power rain shower, a freestanding bathtub, and a steam bath. Guests traveling with large groups can keep their parties together by connecting any Imperial Suite with a Superior Room.

The Grand offers six, lavishly unique Opera Suites that integrate both classic French elegance and modern Dutch styles. Each room come in shades of jade, aqua, and ecru, so guests can slip into complete tranquility. All Opera Suites have baths with double sinks, a rainfall shower, and a separate bathtub with an integrated flat-screen television situated above it. Sofitel has situated three Opera Suites in the main building of The Grand, which look out onto the charming inner garden. The other three Opera Suites are located in former canal houses that offer two floors with plenty of privacy. These duplex Opera Suites consist of a lovely modern living room with high ceilings and large windows. Some of the duplex suites even feature an authentic fireplace on the ground floor, which help guests to create a serene ambience during their stay. The second floor accommodates the master bedroom with a spacious bathroom annex.

The Royal Suite is the grandest room that Sofitel offers at The Grand. Located on the third floor of a former canal house, the Royal Suite grants guests an exquisite view of the hotel’s historic courtyard. As with many of the hotel’s other lodgings, the Royal Suite immerses guests into the rich history of both the hotel and the city of Amsterdam. The suite features a magnificent bedroom, as well as a spacious living space, a lounge, and a small library. The luxurious bath in the suite includes a walk-in rain shower and a freestanding bathtub. Additionally, the suite also features a private balcony.

Junior Suites greet guests with intimate brick walls and deep mahogany textiles. Sofitel has situated twelve Canal House Suites in the former homes of famous Dutch admirals, such the iconic Michiel de Ruyter. These suites immerse guests into the metropolitan history of 17th century Amsterdam. Various Canal House Suites feature a fully-equipped kitchenette, while other spaces have a private roof terrace, or a 'split level' layout. Three Canal House Suites offer a private entrance directly to the Oudezijds Voorburgwal.
