Gorgeous property if you're overlooking the mountains or golf course. The rooms are beginning to really show their wear and need to be updated , especially at these prices. All amenities are there and available. Staff is very accommodating and amenable. Self parking is a small nightmare and needs to be addressed as to where one is at any given time, ie: what floor are you on ? if you park here, what floor can you access ? elevators, up is down ? please explain for first timers !
Restaurants are nice but really overpriced for the offerings, $25 burgers including tip is not good. Since Omni bought the place it's lost some of the small touches that were part of the experience when it was privately owned.

  • Outstanding Experience...

    by Fasteddie350 on 2020-03-29 08:08 am

Just got back from a week stay here. What a wonderful experience ! The setting is spectacular. It's built up on a hill overlooking some beautiful geography, and killer sunsets. And it is old, like built in about 1913. It seems like the hotel just keeps going and going. There are two " new " wings that were added years ago. Even though the architecture doesn't fit on the outside, the inside just flows and you would never know that the wings were new. Stay in the old section if you like historical.

There are probably 4 - 5 restaurants throughout the hotel ranging from a well stocked coffee shop to fine dining. Not all the restaurants were open but we tried two and they were both excellent. The ladies at the coffee shop, Allison and Alissa, were fantastic ! On the second day, they had our items started before we even ordered. They greeted us with a smile each day.

All the service at the OGPI was first class: the valet guys, concierges, front desk staff, servers, house keeping, etc. They seemed to sure like working there. It really showed. Also, the room and common areas were spotless.

Now, of course, all this comes with a price. The place is not economical. The spa is off the charts $$$. But, as they say, if you have to ask... It was our anniversary so we popped for it this time. In any case, if we went back to Asheville, we would probably stay here again.

  • The Best!

This is a wonderful getaway experience. The SPA is fantastic. The rooms are well done and very clean. The food we had was great, and it was lots of fun to have a drink (VERY EXPENSIVE) in front of the fireplace in the rocking chair. Be sure to see the DUELING PIANOS on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Just a wonderful time, at a beautiful location. Just plan on it being expensive and then don't worry about it.

  • Disappointing-greedy

Finishing a three-day stay. Despite most amenties being closed by staff shortages for flu, spotty and weak wifi, etc. , the hotel insisted on charging its $25/day "resort" fee. The self parking lot in/out gate did not work properly for three days, but still insisted on charging $15/day fee. Despite housekeeping services cut by 30%, no room service, dirty elevators, etc., refused to provide reduction to room rate charges. I get there is an emergency flu situation and times are difficult, but this hotel wants everyone except itself to adapt! Stay away.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, and we appreciate your feedback. Due to both the Governor's ordinance and CDC recommendation, some amenities are temporarily closed. We apologize that this impacted your stay. Our first priority is the health and wellbeing of our guests and associates, and we will share your observations with our management team. We sincerely hope you will visit The Omni Grove Park Inn again.

  • Another great stay at GPI

    by dhudgens123 on 2020-03-16 07:58 pm

We decided to take a portion of Spring Break at GPI and really enjoyed it. Our son is now 18 and had his first visit to the Spa. It did not disappoint and he truly enjoyed his Hot Stone massage and the pools. I have waited many years for this moment. It was very satisfying to share a very special place with him that his parents enjoy very much.

Thank you for sharing, and may we wish your son a very happy 18th birthday! We are truly touched that enjoying The Spa can be a tradition passed down to your now adult son, and we look forward to welcoming the whole family back for more amazing visits.
