The Otesaga Resort Hotel is a fantastic place to go for a weekend getaway. The rooms are beautiful and the on site restaurants and taverns are excellent as well. Plenty of parking on site and the staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful.

I unfortunately had to cancel my trip to this beautiful resort due to Dreams Park canceling their baseball tournament because of the Covid Virus. I just want to thank The Otesaga Resort for being understanding and not charging any fees. I will definitely be staying here in the future. I hope all the business's in Cooperstown recover from this crisis and that the people stay Safe and Healthy. Looking forward to better days ahead!

    Sincerely,
    Maez Family

  • Beautiful!

A bucket list item has been to see the National Baseball Hall of fame and stay at the Otesaga. What a beautiful resort, right on the lake. It lived up to all I was looking forward to. Drinks and dinner at the Hawkeye Grill was delicious.

  • Not just for baseball fans

My daughter-in-law treated for this trip. The hotel is not a modern hotel. Reminds me of a huge 19th century mansion. haha. But, it has all the modern amenities. The rooms were quite spacious. The bathroom was what one would find in a post war apartment. Nothing fancy but totally functional. It had the looks of my 1950's apartment bathroom. I am not denigrating the bathroom, just explaining it. The hotel itself has a very homey feeling. The food was fabulous. Breakfast came with our stay and it was without a doubt the best layout i've ever seen. And, you had the opportunity to sit on the balcony which had a wonderful view of the lake. The balcony was available for seating at all times and in the evening, it was such a relaxing way to spend the time. I did not go on the lake but i've seen people on it. There is a nice large swimming pool which the family enjoyed. And to top it all off, the staff was very friendly and courteous. Of course, the main reason for the trip was to go to the Hall of Fame. Nothing needs to be said of that. And its withing easy walking distance from the hotel. Approx. a 1/2 mile. There are also some fine restaurants in the town. Overall, one of the best relaxing, enjoyable vacations i've ever had. By the way, I went in August of 2018, not January 2019.

  • A Classic Historic Hotel

    by Mark G on 2019-12-19 08:33 am

We were staying at the Otesaga's sister hotel, the Cooper Inn only a block away and were told we had full use of the Otesaga's amenities during our stay. Built in 1909, the 132 room Otesaga Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The impressive front entrance to the property with it's stately columns and the stunning views of Lake Otsego and surroundings from the expansive veranda are fantastic. The lobby is elegant and the amenities seem endless from golf, fishing, tennis, swimming, both pool and lake, spa etc...and 5 restaurants and bars. We visited twice during our stay and also had a nice meal at the Hawkeye Restaurant and Bar. I think these visits have enticed us to stay at the Otesaga Hotel on our next visit to the area.
