  • Beautiful historic hotel, bathrooms are an issue

    This is a beautiful old historic hotel that has been renovated, great location in Glens Falls, nice bar, and a good free continental breakfast(must pay for an upgraded breakfast). But the queen bed was a very small queen that was more a double sized bed. The bathrooms have no place to put toiletries, the toilet is very low and the bathtub was dangerously curved so was very tricky to stand and take a shower. I really would go back to this hotel, but the bathroom/bed size issues have left a more negative experience with us than a positive one.

    The hotel was ok old but you can see that they have tried to update it and still are. The pool needs to go and make a bigger pool with a hot tub. The rooms are ok but needs better cleaning. Michael at the front desk needs work, he just seems over his head and very frustrated. Doesn't know much about the area. He was telling me he has been there over a year, that is sad that he is that incompetent.I thought he was new and could have understood. Not much to do around the hotel. There is a bar and restaurant in hotel.

    I can't stress enough how lovely this hotel is! The staff is wonderful, and they were so accommodating to myself and my dogs. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the hotel is in a great location! I can't wait to visit again!

    We simply tried to explain we could not walk far because of physical problems.
    So we are put on the 5th floor at the end of the hall.
    I pre arranged the location of the room on the initial reservation.
    Clerk to busy to pay attention to my request.
    Had to carry our own bags no service.

    After booking a king size bed/room 4 month ago I was given a small room with a queen size bed in it. Then when I complained i was given a king sized bed but the AC did not work. They tried to fix the AC but couldn't. by then it was too late to change rooms and they would not do anything else.
