A peaceful mountain retreat on a 26-acre campus, Colorado Chautauqua is nonetheless well connected to Denver and its international airport (DIA) and the main attractions of Boulder, Colorado. A short walk, drive, or free city shuttle brings guests to desirable destinations like Boulder’s famous Pearl Street Mall, and the Mediterranean-style University Of Colorado (CU) Campus. Colorado Chautauqua is a National Historic Landmark with over 40 miles of trails and a dedicated Ranger Office for outdoor recreation.
Chautauqua’s beautiful location and charming collection of historic cottages and community spaces make it an ideal venue for weddings, reunions, meetings, retreats, and special occasions. Three event venues at the historic Community House cater to a wide range of events, while the historic Mary H. Galey Cottage and Missions House Lodge are private, lodge-style accommodations designed to comfortably host up to 24 guests. Host a cocktail hour on the Auditorium terrace, an ice cream social at the General Store, or a Western-style BBQ at the Picnic Shelter. The guest services team can prepare packages, activities, tours, and in-house catering, and menus always feature fresh, local ingredients. Wellness and outdoor experiences such as mindfulness, yoga, guided hikes, all-inclusive curated, and private concerts can be added to meetings and social events.

Colorado Chautauqua’s grounds are home to tennis, basketball, and pickleball courts, as well as a beautiful state-of-the-art playground with climbing structures inspired by the nearby Flatirons peaks. The resort offers guests complimentary sports equipment, yoga mats, and an assortment of board games.
Chautauqua Auditorium
Colorado Chautauqua boasts its own 1,300-seat auditorium constructed for the resort’s opening in 1898. The historic venue currently hosts public concerts, lectures, and movies from May to October but will become a year-round cultural destination from January 2027. Select private events and non-profit rentals can be scheduled at the Auditorium.
Retreats
Colorado Chautauqua has a dedicated retreats coordinator to arrange immersive experiences designed to help individuals and teams reconnect, recharge, and learn in the picturesque Colorado landscape. The programs combine outdoor adventure, wellness practices, comfortable lodging, and team-building opportunities. Individual retreats can also be curated to provide all-inclusive experiences focused on wellness and personal growth.
Grand Assembly Hall
The Grand Assembly Hall is the Community House’s largest event space, located on the main floor and designed for meetings, retreats, weddings, and celebrations. The 1,775-square-foot venue features oak floors, a grand piano, a gas fireplace, a wrap-around balcony, and a covered verandah overlooking the Centennial Garden. It accommodates up to 100 guests in a theater-style event or 80 in a banquet-style event. The Larkspur and Bellflower breakout rooms are included with Grand Assembly Hall rentals.
The Rocky Mountain Climbers Club
The Rocky Mountain Climbers Club is a historic meeting space in the Community House that served as the gathering place for the club for more than a century. Its stone walls, gas fireplace, and custom cherrywood furnishings create a warm, Colorado atmosphere ideal for luncheons, receptions, and mid-size meetings. The room can host up to 60 guests and offers modern amenities including a wall-mounted television with casting capabilities, WiFi, and ADA access.
Verandah
The Verandah is a covered outdoor space adjacent to the Grand Assembly Hall and is included with all Grand Assembly Hall bookings. Overlooking the Centennial Garden and surrounded by mature evergreens, it provides a scenic setting for small meetings, receptions, or social gatherings. The furnished outdoor space can accommodate up to 24 guests.
Mary H. Galey Cottage
At 2,245 square feet, the Mary H. Galey Cottage provides room to sleep 12 and host up to 24. The cottage has four bedrooms and three full bathrooms across two levels, with decks on both floors. In-house laundry, two wet bars, a catering-grade full kitchen, fireplace, and a surround sound system make it a desirable lodge for private events, retreats, or long-term stays.
Missions House Lodge
Built in 1911 for young women attending the Rocky Mountain School of Missions, the Missions House Lodge features a spectacular great room with a stone gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, eight guest rooms with private baths, downstairs powder room and large screened-in front porch. The lodge sleeps up to 16 people and can comfortably entertain events of up to 24 guests.
