Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza

Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza’s story began in 1929 when businessman John J. Emery envisioned a multipurpose commercial property in Cincinnati that would rival New York City’s finest structures. Carew Tower was finished in 1931, and with it debuted the new St. Netherland Plaza hotel. The hotel was luxurious and featured the lavish use of rare Brazilian rosewood, marble, and custom nickel-silver fixtures. The rooms were fashioned with stylized Egyptian décor, floral motifs, and some of the world’s most remarkable French Art Deco treasures. Proudly stewarding this spectacular legacy, Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza was listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1994 and became a charter member of Historic Hotels of America.
