Celebrating over 135 years, Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans has been proudly operated by five generations since 1886. The hotel’s famed grandfather clock still chimes in the lobby, surrounded by glittering chandeliers, polished marble floors, and gleaming brass appointments. The Iberville Tower offers a self-contained escape within the Hotel Monteleone, featuring 160 completely renovated rooms, 48 brand-new luxury suites and the freshly designed Iberville Ballroom. The Carousel Bar & Lounge at Hotel Monteleone is a unique and iconic spot. It is the only revolving bar in the city, offering a subtle rotation around the bar every 15 minutes.
Some of the most renowned authors were frequent visitors here, including Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, Eudora Welty, and Truman Capote. The hotel has appeared as a setting in American fiction, prompting the Friends of Libraries U.S.A. to designate Hotel Monteleone a Literary Landmark.

Built in 1949, this is the city’s only revolving bar.
