Access the island via a 20-minute public ferry from St. Ignace or Mackinaw City. Commercial air service to Pellston (PLN). Private charter available to Mackinac Island Airport. Island transport is by horse-drawn carriage, bike, or foot. Island House is far enough from downtown to enjoy the sounds of horseshoes on the street & watch freighters glide through the Straits of Mackinac, yet just a short walk to shopping, dining, attractions, activities, & nightlife.

Driving Directions

Since motor traffic is prohibited, the island is best reached by ferry or via charter flights or private planes. Ferries depart from Exit 337 off Interstate 75 in Mackinaw City and Exit 343 off Interstate 75 in St. Ignace.

Nearest Airport

Pellston Regional Airport (PLN) is approximately a 20 minute drive from Mackinaw City.
