The history of Fort Worth is inextricably linked to The Ashton Hotel, a boutique hotel in Fort Worth that travelers cherish, which occupies two unique buildings in the downtown area. In its early years, the hotel’s two-story 1890 Victorian structure, the Winfree Building, served as a law firm and a saloon, and the six-story 1915 Italianate-style hotel was the home of the Fort Worth Club, which became the essential hub of community business deals and civic ties. From 1937 on, the neighboring buildings shared a history of integrated use. A recent five-year renovation has seen the complete architectural restoration of both buildings’ exteriors and the elegant transformation of their interiors. Today, The Ashton Hotel, Fort Worth’s only small luxury hotel, prides itself on catering to guests in a grand way.
