A welcoming foyer, with a half bath, leads into the spacious living room with comfortable seating, a large flat screen television, a dining table for six and a beautiful kitchenette with mini refrigerator, wine racks, sink and coffee maker. The bedroom includes comfortable seating and a second flat screen television. A dressing area, providing plenty of storage, is located between the bath and the bedroom area.

Opened on Halloween 1895, The Jefferson Hotel is the creation of Major Lewis Ginter, a Richmond businessman and philanthropist. His dream was to build one of the finest hotels in America for visitors to Central Virginia. Major Ginter found inspiration for his structure in both the Beaux-Arts and Renaissance Revival styles during his extensive travels abroad. Magnificently restored and recently renovated, the hotel continues to fulfill Ginter’s vision to be known for breathtaking public spaces, luxurious accommodations, exceptional dining, flawless special events, and genuine, friendly service.

In 1892, local tobacco magnate Lewis Ginter began construction on the hotel with a budget of $2 million. Estimates state that Ginter eventually spent anywhere between $5 to $10 million to fully develop the location over the next three years. In 1895, Ginter debuted the hotel before an exhilarated crowd on Halloween in 1895.
