Recent openings have put The Lafayette Hotel and Club firmly on the map in terms of dining options in San Diego. Travel back in time to the 1940s when Larry Imig was first hosting celebrities at his hotel with a trip to the round-the-clock Beginner’s Diner. The diner is authentic down to the placemats with plenty of chrome and neon to pair with anything from malts and fries to nods to traditional Greek and Jewish influences. Guests can also enjoy traditional cuisine and mezcal at Quixote, which offers an Oaxacan experience with a side of awe. The restaurant is situated in a reconstructed, decommissioned Catholic church from Mexico, complete with stained glass and baroque pew seating.

Dining and entertaining at The Lafayette Hotel and Club isn’t limited to the dinner table. In the Lobby Bar guests can meet and mingle with friends at the start of a fun night while enjoying classic cocktails, murals and fine glasswork. The Pool Bar, meanwhile, offers bites and aperitifs to relax with on the pool’s garden deck. Sr\Drinks are also available, along with bowling and other games, at the hotel’s two-lane alley, The Gutter.
