Hotel Colorado illuminates holiday season with 35th Annual Lighting Ceremony

More than half a million lights decorating the historic Hotel Colorado will come to life on Friday, ushering in the holiday season with a lighting ceremony and community celebration complete with live performances, a craft fair, gingerbread competition and more.
The day of celebration costs the hotel around $80,000, according to Hotel Colorado General Manager Larry MacDonald, but the Melville Family — who bought the hotel in 2018 — are determined to keep the tradition alive despite the cost.
